Application Notes

Bacillibactin is a catecholamide siderophore produced by various Bacillus and other species. Bacillibactin is structurally related to enterobactin in which the three Ser units of enterobactin are replaced by Thr units to form the tri-lactonic macrocycle. Bacillibactin has antifungal and broad antibacterial activity that contributes to the biocontrol efficacy of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.
